Typically, remote control grabs operate in combination with single-hook cranes on ship decks. Operators simply hook the crane directly onto the grab’s balancing frame to begin loading or unloading bulk materials. Remote control grab buckets rely on signals from both a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter, in this case, typically takes the form of a handheld remote, which is used to send signals to the receiver connected to the bucket mechanism. This allows users to maneuver the device using wireless controls.
1. Power On / Off
Power On: Press the green “START” button to power on the remote control.
Power Off: Press the red emergency stop button (mushroom head on the top left) to cut off the power.
2. Hook Connection
Put the crane hook directly onto the grab’s balancing frame.
3. Opening the Grab
Click the “OPEN” button on the remote control. The grab bucket will automatically open until it is fully opened.
Pause / Stop Opening: During the opening process, you can press the “STOP OPEN” button at any time to pause or stop the grab from opening. Press “OPEN” again to resume.
4. Closing the Grab
For closing the grab, the operation is similar to traditional mechanical grabs: simply lift the crane’s wire rope/hook to close the bucket.
5. Hydraulic System Locking (Important)
After the grab bucket is fully opened, press the “STOP OPEN” button to lock the hydraulic system circuit before starting the next cargo grab. Then, lift the crane wire rope.
