Recently, OUCO successfully delivered a custom-designed 3T40M telescopic offshore crane to Dubai Petroleum Establishment (DPE), a government-owned company involved in oil and gas development.
This project, which spanned eight months from May 2024 to January 2025, marks a significant milestone in our ongoing collaboration with DPE.
Project Overview
OUCO’s 3T40M telescopic offshore crane was specifically engineered to meet the challenging demands of offshore operations.
Used for lifting operations on Offshore Supply Vessels (OSVs), including platform-to-vessel and underwater lifting tasks.
The crane, designed for operations in 0-50°C conditions, boasts ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) classification society certification, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.
The Customization and Challenges
One of the primary challenges was meeting the customer’s requirement for a lifting capacity of 27T at a 10.5-meter radius when the boom is fully extended.
Additionally, the crane needed to achieve a hook height of at least 35 meters under full extension, even in more complex working conditions. OUCO’s team was able to meet these requirements, ensuring the crane is perfectly suited to the customer’s operational needs.
In fact, the OUCO-3t40m-TB crane is our standard model. However, this time, OUCO has customized certain features to fulfill the specific requirements of DPE. The modifications include:
- Customized lifting capacity: Meeting the 27T at 10.5 meters with the boom fully extended and a hook height of 35 meters.
- Underwater lifting functionality: Designed to lift loads under water with an SWL (Safe Working Load) of 18T at 12 meters and 2T at 30 meters.
- Dual winches and hooks: Ensuring efficient and secure lifting operations with a crane hook travel of 100 meters.
- Manned operations: Incorporating PLC torque control to meet the crane’s manned operation requirements.
